k. Surprise. I bet you weren't expectin to see one o these... a spastic review! Well, a revisitation, really, since it is a rerun. (And the peasants rejoiced; yaaay.) I was planning to do them for all the eps while we were on hiatus, but I was alternately being lazy and busy and asleep. I didn't even get around to them til this weekend.

Anyway...

-HOTR is an ep I never saw more than maybe three times before Friday. Why? It just never left much of an impression on me, and I just generally didn't like the ep. Don't get me wrong, I don't *loathe* this ep, like I did EM, I just had sort of a 'blah. whatever.' attitude towards it. The most important stuff here is setting up Chi's relationship with D'Argo. Personally, I thought the coolest part here was the concept of a Budong... a huge, gigantic creature that lived in space and was *fully* biological, unlike Moya, which is biomechanoid. And then, the idea that people mine on a budong for ngelti (sp?)... btw, is ngelti some kind of biological byproduct? Like, mebbe those little crusty things you get in the corner of your eye when you wake up in the morning?

- I just had to go eew, because John's sneeze at the beginning of the ep sounded really, really, juicy. Eew.

-And Aeryn interrogating Chiana, in the teaser, about her time on the Budong was just funny. She's all getting up in her face. More on this later, tho.

-Believe it or not, John's quote about the Donner party actually helped me in US History. I kid you not.

-Credits, blah, blah, and it was right about *here* that I realised that I *really* like the new ones.

-I can't help but wonder if Crichton's got as bad allergies on Earth as he does in the UT. He's got em here, he's got em in BTBW...

-Okay. Back to that Aeryn thing. I just think it's really amusing how jealous and suspicious Aeryn acts where Chiana is concerned in these early season 2 eps. Just the way Claudia says that 'I get to stay here with the blooming blue bush while you get to play with your favorite trelk' - and then accenting it by turning on the blow torch - was great. Mmmhmm. You know you want that Erpman, Aeryn.

-"Is he edible?" Yeah. I could imagine Rygel eating people.

-I noticed that here we see, for the first time, that undershirt Chi wears later on in ACN. The one with the beads? I just love little continuity things like that.

-Budong Dwellers are the Cajuns of the UT! Lissen to that accent! I always half-expect B'Sogg to suddenly yell out 'YOU CAN DO IT!'

-When Crichton calls Rygel Maverick, is he referring to the Mel Gibson movie, or something else entirely? Just askin.

-Zhaan doesn't need meat, she's just been infected with... SHATNERISM! AHHH! "Need food. Need meat. Must eat. Beam me up, Scotty."

- *snicker* B'Sogg is a butthead. Literally.

-The way B'Sogg says Luxan... "Luxe-anne"... just made me wanna burst out singing... "LUUUUUUUXE-ANNNE! You don't have to turn on the red light!"

-Hungry Zhaan is freaking me out. Simultaneously, all those spores she's giving off reminds me of snow.

-Right when we hear the keedva first coming after Crichton, I just had to snerk at his horror movie face. I mean, it was like, right out of some 70's teenage slasher flick. It was kinda like... "THE PHONECALLS ARE COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE!" kinda face.

-Bite the muppet! Bite the muppet!

-Anyone else notice how Ben's accent is suddenly a thousand times thicker around B'Sogg? Or am I just hearing thingS?

-BUUUUTTSHOT!

-BTW, did I ever mention... that a keedva looks kinda like a... MONKEY! Well, okay, a really fugly monkey, but still a monkey.

-Acid Melty Hand! Seriously, tho. That melty hand bit was really nasty looking. Anyone know if the BBC cut that out over in the UK? Why do I have a feeling they did?

-Aaaand next week... ooo .oooooo. New ep previews. Freaky Estee Lauder Alien. I'm your daddy! And is that Crichton v. Crichton?

-Okay. I have to say, I love Zhaan making puppy dog sounds at Aeryn, begging for more food. It was just cracking me up, because it's so un-Zhaan-like. I just love it.

-Heheh. "Carolina-style Keedva!" *pop pants button* <THUD> DON'T STOP DAMMIT! Hehe. Sorry. I'll be better in just a moment. Okay. Breathe.

-There you go. The random swirly thoughts in my hed while watching this ep for uhm, prolly the 3rd time. Great. Now this means my spastic archive is out of date! ARGH! BTW!
